New Resident, Money Making And My Axe!

Hello everyone! (or no one, it doesn't really matter)

My latest resident in my town is Peewee the Gorilla. When he met me his words were, "Huh? I thought I'd met everyone in town. But I don't think I've met you yet, li'l dude. My name is Peewee! I'm not good at pleasentries, but it's nice to meet you!" He seems rather sweet. We'll have to see if we get along.

I've been receiving different kinds of fruit today. I mailed cherries (the main fruit in my town) to all my neighbours and today I received two apples, two peaches, an orange and a cherry (cheap bastard).

I bought an axe today - I'm going to use it to chop down a few trees that don't bear fruit and plant the exotic fruits in their place. That way they're guaranteed to grow.

Anyway, back to my money-making schemes. Practically all of my fruit trees are ready to be harvested, so I'll be doing that today, as well as combing the beach for shells on an hourly basis. I'm also planning on bugging all my neighbours until they give me stuff =]

No luck with the turnips yet. Nook's offered an even lower price today. I'll have to make due with fishing and bug catching for another day.

I haven't gotten many different furniture items today, so I'll only be updating my Collections list next week.

Redd's coming tomorrow - I'm hoping for a genuine painting.

Special Characters

Alright, on to the next topic. Now, at the main gate there are two dog guards, right? Their names are Copper and Booker. Copper is the dog on the right, and his job is opening and closing the town's gate. I never talk to him because none of my friends have this game. Which sucks. Anyway, Booker is the dog on the left. He's rather shy, but that's not really important because quite frankly his attitude will probably never change. He's naturally hesitant of telling you anything or giving you anything, and he always feels as if he isn't doing his job properly. Anyway, by talking to Booker you can ask "What's new?" in which case he will tell you if there is any special character in your town. More on this now. He is also the town's lost and found service, and he will tell you if there are any found items, naturally letting you claim them all. He also allows you to change the town flag. Change your flag to a skull and crossbones to let your friends know that if they cause any problems in your town, they walk the plank and will have to endure Pascal's company for the rest of their lives. That'll scare them for sure...
Copper

Booker

Okay, so, special characters. What is their purpose? Some of them give you rare items, and others provide a service to you. Some show up on specific days (Redd - whichever day you tell Lyle he must show up; Lyle - Saturdays; Joan - Sundays), others at specific times (Postman Pete for example - everyday at 5am. I'll never wake up this early, so I'll probably never meet him... Oh well), but most are at random. That's why it's vital to check with Booker who is in your town.

Lyle

Lyle is an insurance salesman. He's also a weasel. Literally and figuratively. You'll find him outside your house every Saturday morning. When you talk to him the first time he'll ask you a few questions on your plans for the future, the insurance business and such. Then he'll try and load a bunch of life insurance on you. You can't really say no to him, and the only way to stop him taking your money is if you don't have enough - it costs 3 000 Bells. This may seem like a huge rip-off, but it's actually rather clever. You basically get paid 100 Bells everytime you fall or get stung by bees. BINGO. As I said in my first post, I run around shaking trees most of the day, hoping to get stung by bees. It's sad, but it works. The next time you see him he offers insurance on fake paintings you may buy from sly Redd (Yes, we all know they're in cahoots since Lyle conveniently asks us what day we would like Redd to come around, but we can't do anything about it so we just go along with their sick scheme), and gives you 100 Bells as compensation for the 3 000 or so Bells you may have spent on the fake piece of junk in the first place. This insurance costs 6 000 Bells. This one IS a rip-off, but I'll get it anyway when he comes around on Saturday. Hey, it's better than nothing.

Joan

Joan is a warthog and a turnip farmer. Every Sunday she shows up in your town from 6am to 12pm. She has two types of turnip for sale: White turnips and red turnips. She never runs out of white turnips, and you can buy as many turnips from her as you can afford. Her turnip prices vary - yesterday I paid 108 Bells per turnip. I bought 160 turnips, and I currently have no money left. I'm shaking fruit trees tomorrow! Anyway, you buy the turnips from Joan and sell them to Nook. Simple as that. Well not really. Nook's turnip prices change twice a day, and you have to know when the right time is to sell them. If by the end of the week you haven't sold your white turnips, you better sell them to Nook, even if you make a huge loss. White turnips rot after a week, unless you use a cheat. But I'm not into that. I didn't sell my turnips today, because Nook's prices were in the low 80s. Here's hoping tomorrow works out better.
Red turnips are slightly different. You can buy only one packet every Sunday. After getting your seed packet, you must plant it and water it every day for seven days. If you miss out on one day, it dies. It's a good idea to plant your red turnip next to your house. Thankfully it's raining by me so I don't have to worry too much about watering my turnip, but I water it anyway just in case. At the end of the week, you can sell the turnip to Nook for 16 000 Bells. Not bad considering you only paid 1 000 for it :)

Redd

Redd is a fox. A rather sly one at that. He shows up whenever you tell Lyle he should show up (see Lyle above). He owns a tent. When you first try and get in he'll say a sentence, then you have to put in the correct phrase to complete it, which will be the password. If you don't have the password, go talk to a few townsfolk - one of them will know the password. Once inside, Redd realises you are not one of his store's members. You can't buy anything until you are a member so speak to him again. Once you're a member, you will receive mail from Redd telling you what the next password is. Redd's tent is also the only place where you can buy paintings. And most of the time they're counterfeit. (see Lyle above)

Shrunk

He's the first special character who I've encountered who shows up randomly. He's a crab or a newt... I think he's a newt.. And he's a psychiatrist. His purpose is to teach your character different emotions to use when communicating with your friends who visit your town. He taught me my first emotion today - shyness. I can now make my character blush on command!

Those are all the special characters I've met at the moment. If there's an update I shall let you know!

Sable, Brewster and Collections

Okay, so that was the introduction, just with some basic information and stuff.

Now on to some semi-interesting details. Alright, so, next to Tom Nook's store (at the moment it's Nook 'n' Go) there is a clothes store, called Able Sisters. This darling little place is owned by porcupines (or hedgehogs... yeah I think they're hedgehogs) Mable and Sable, who, as the store's name implies, are sisters. Now Mable is the clerk, always bubbly, ready to help, eager to please. You know, like a female version of Nook, except not as stingy. Sable, however, is the tailor, and you find her in the back of the store, busy on her sewing machine. If you go talk to her, more often than not she doesn't even reply. All you get out of her is "..." or she asks Mable to "take care of this customer". She seems extremely cold at first. But if you talk to her everyday, she eventually becomes friendlier. I've been speaking to her everyday for four days, and today she finally thanked me for stopping in everyday and talking to her. It was so cute it practically made my heart melt.

Next up I paid a visit to Brewster, the pigeon who has a coffee shop in the museum. He's much harder to converse with, and today the only things he said to me were "...Coo." and "Interested in our special blend, I take it?" Apart from that - nothing. At least I got a cup of coffee out of it. Though it did cost me 200 Bells...
Brewster, owner of The Roost
Blathers, curator of the museum

Anyway, while I'm on the topic of the museum, I've been donating quite a lot to it, especially over the past two days. It's Summer in my game, but since it's in the early stages of the season, it's been raining everyday. I saw sunlight for about an hour yesterday and most of today. It's currently raining though. Which reminds me, I have a competition with Tipper to see who can catch a firefly first.. I should do that soon. But anyway... Back to my museum collections. Bye xx

Hello Animal Crossing World!

Welcome to my blog! This may be a bit of an unusual one, but what the heck. I love the Nintendo game Animal Crossing: Wild World, and have recently started my game over due to never playing my previous one. What I'll basically be doing is keeping track of my life in the game. Cool? Okay let me start with some basic information:

I've been playing since the 21st, just getting  used to my surroundings and establishing relationships with my neighbours. Firstly, this is what I look like:
This is actually the character closest to the way I really look - except I have green eyes and longer hair. But anyhoo.. My neighbours so far are:

Pinky the Panda

Derwin the Duck

Lobo the Wolf
Bud the Lion
Daisy the Dog

Tipper the Cow

Walker the Dog

I've paid off my first mortgage of 19 800 Bells (the currency in the game), and my house is slightly bigger. So whereas it was originally only a small room.. It's a slightly larger room now.

Tom Nook upgraded his shop. It's now Nook 'n' Go, instead of Nook's Cranny.
Over the weekend I decided to get Insurance from Lyle. I've been running around, shaking trees in the hopes of getting stung by bees... Yeah, I'm that desperate for cash.
I also bought 160 white turnips from Joan. Hopefully I make a nice profit off of them, as Nook's being a bit stingy right now. I've got my red turnip growing next to my house, getting watered everyday.

Anyway, that's it for my first blog post. I'll write about my experiences with Brewster and Sable, as well as my collections for the museum, in my next post.

Until later!
